| According to past record, there were only 1-2 great vintages in every decade before 1999. Because of global warming or whatever reason, we have 4 great vintages from 2000-2010: 2000, 2005, 2009, 2010. Who knows if 2011 is a great vintage. What is the effect of the new phenomenon to Bordeaux wine investment? It may mean that the supply of great Bordeaux wines will be double or even more in the future. But the demand from East is also increasing in recently years. What is the effect on price if more supply vs more demand? I feel that there may have higher and higher risk on crazily increasing of the price of Bordeaux premium wines in these few years, especially Lafite 2008 is selling at HK$18000 and Latour 2008 at HK$10000 in local wine shop now. Vintage 2008 is not even counted as a great vintage. |
